Prof. N.K. Sahoo completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Thin Film Physics with the title of thesis as “Thin Film Optical Coatings for High Power Laser Applications”, from University of Mumbai. Subsequently he was selected by National Academy of Sciences (NAS, USA) as a National Research Council (NRC) research associate to carry out post-doctoral research at NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center (NASA/MSFC), Huntsville, USA  in the field of  new generation multilayer thin film laser & space coatings and devices for NASA’s space research program. Over the period had served as a PhD Guide in Mumbai University, a Senior Professor in Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) and several students have received doctoral degree under his guidance.  He is a Fellow of Maharashtra Academy of Sciences. He had discharged several academic and institutional apex positions, such as, Vice President of Optical Society of India, Vice President of Indian Physics Association, Chairman of the Basic Science Committee (BSC) of Board of Researches in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS). He superannuated as a Distinguished Scientist (DS) and Associate Director, Physics Group, from  Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai. He has several awards, research publications and recognitions to his credits including Homi Bhabha Science & Technology Award of DAE and Six DAE’s Group Achievement Awards in noteworthy R&D areas of Science & Technology. Presently he is working as a Raja Ramanna Fellow of Department of Atomic Energy and a mentor for CoE, Nano-Science & Technology for Development of Sensors, Berhampur University.



Prof. Sukanta K. Tripathy

Prof. Sukanta K. Tripathy did his Ph.D. in Physics under the guidance of Prof S.Anada Rao of NIT Jamshedpur. He has guided eight doctoral and twelve MTech/MPhil students and had about fifty publications to his credit. He visited the University of Electro-Communication, Japan; Brunel University, London and Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences(IAMS), Taiwan; Centre for Condensed Matter Sciences NTU, Taiwan, as visiting scientist on collaborative research. He has authored one book on Materials Science and Engineering (SciTech, Publisher) and edited two books: "Functional Materials" and "Advanced Materials (AIP Publisher). He was PI and Co-PI of DST Odisha and DST India (UKIERI) projects. Currently, he is the coordinator of the Centre of Excellence of Nanoscience and Technology for the Development of sensor (CoENSTds). He is also coordinating the DST FIST program to set up the center for Applied Photonics to develop experimental facilities for the fabrication and characterization of the third-generation solar cell.

Prof. Tripathy is a life member of the photonic society of India, Optical Society of India, Indian Society of technical education, a Patron member of Orissa Physical Society, and a member of IEEE Photonics Society. He is a Governing council member, an Academic Council member of the Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, Executive council member of Odisha Bigyan Academy,and a member of council of higher secondary education, Odisha.

He is a regular reviewer of IEEE Photonics Journal, Journal of Applied Physics (AIP), Journal of Modern Physics (Taylor Francis), Chinese optics letter (Taylor Francis), and Optical Fiber Technology (Elsevier). His current research interests include nanophotonics, optical sensors, and solar cell.

                                                                          

Dr. Satyanarayan Sahoo

Dr. Satyanarayan Sahoo obtained his Ph. D. degree in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in the year 2010. After completion of his Ph. D. degree, he was a Research Associate for a short period in the same institute. He has joined Berhampur University as a Lecturer in the month of March 2011. His research interest includes Organometallic Chemistry & Organic Synthesis. Three Ph. D. and eleven M. Phil scholars have been awarded with their degree under his guidance. He has published more than twenty research articles in National and International Journals which include Angewandte Chemi International Edition, Inorganic Chemistry, Organometallics, Carbohydrate Research, etc. In the year 2012 he was awarded with Prof. R. C. Tripathy Young Chemist Award by Orissa Chemical Society. He is a TARE (Teachers Associateship for Research Excellence) fellow at IISER Berhampur and group member in Centre of Excellence, Berhampur University. Currently, he is the Coordinator, P. G. Department of Chemistry, Berhampur University.







Dr. Ganngam Phaomei

Dr. Ganngam Phaomei is working as Assistant Prof. in the Department of Chemistry in Berhampur University since August 2012. He did his Ph.D. from Manipur University. He has more than nine years of teaching and research experiences. He has published several Research Articles and Book Chapters of International repute. He has guided 2 Doctoral and one post-Doctoral students. He is formally engaged in the field of Nanotechnology, photoluminescence and sensors for environment and Biomedical applications.







Dr. Sandip Kumar Dash

Dr. Dash is working as assistant Prof. in the department of Zoology in Berhampur University since Nov 2017. He has obtained his Ph.D. from AcSIR-IGIB, Delhi during 2014. He has more than eight years of teaching and research experiences, during which, He has published several Research Articles and Book Chapters of International repute. He is a life member of several National and International societies like International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), International Society of Zoological Sciences (ISZS), Indian Science Congress Associations (ISCA), and Associations of Microbiology of India (AMI). His research interests include Nanotechnology, Molecular Biosensors, and Molecular Diagnostic Techniques for the detection of different bacterial and viral infectious diseases.







Dr. Kusha Kumar Naik

Dr. Naik is working as Assistant Prof. in the P.G Dept. of Physics, Berhampur University since 2017. He achieved his Ph.D. in Physics from School of Basic Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He has more than five years of teaching and research experiences, during which, he has published several Research Articles in international journal. His research interest includes the facile synthesis of novel multifunctional nanomaterials and their applications to Biosensor and Super-capacitor. His ongoing research project is “Seed Fund Research Project under OURIIP-2021” OSHEC, Govt. of Odisha with the title as “Electrochemical Activity of Chromium Oxide Quantum Dots towards Glucose Oxidation”.







Madhusudan Mishra

Madhusudan Mishra has completed his Ph.D. work in 2022 at Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India as a DST INSPIRE Fellow. During his Ph.D., he received scholarship from Erasmus Mundus LEADERS doctoral mobility program for carrying out a part of his Ph.D. research at University of Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy, for one year. His research interests include design optimization of Integrated Photonic Devices, waveguide based photonic biosensors, SPR based photonic biosensors and graphene based 2D nano electronic devices. Currently he is involved in development of invasive and non-invasive low cost photonic biosensors for blood glucose detection.


 





Dr. Sangita K. Swain

She has joined CoE in December 2021 as a Postdoctoral fellow.  Her research interest includes designing of nanocarrier for drug delivery system. Photocatalysis of organic pollutants for industrial application and designing chemical sensors for environment applications. She received a master’s degree in 2010 and M.Phil. degree in 2013 from Berhampur university. She has been awarded Ph.D. degree in developing nanomaterials in drug delivery and sensing applications in 2021 from Berhampur University. She has teaching experiences of 10 years in Bachelor and master’s degree level. She has the authorship of one Book chapter and 4 papers in international journals.



Ashok Kumar Sahu

Ashok Kumar Sahu has completed the M.Sc. at Berhampur University with a thesis on EM wave propagation in 2D photonics crystal by using FDTD method for realisation of optical logic gates. In June-2021, he started the Ph.D. in physics with a scholarship under ouriip-2021, focused on Design and Implementation of Invasive and Non-Invasive Glucose Sensor Based on Visible and NIR Radiation. His work is mainly focused on the sensing of the light with invasive and non-invasive techniques, consisting in the simulations, fabrication and testing of devices realized on different platforms and different wavelengths depending on their applications.

Preeti is currently perusing her Doctoral degree in Physics in the P.G. Dept. of Physics, Berhampur University on the topic titled as “Spinel And Perovskite Oxides in Sensing Application” under the supervision of Prof. Sukanta Kumar Tripathy and Dr. Bhaskar Chandra Behera.  She has completed her M. Phil (2017) on the topic “The Role of Nano Titanium Oxide in the Improvement of Efficiency of a Quantum Dot Sensitized Solar Cell”. She did her M. Sc. in Physics (2014) with specialization in “CONDENSED MATTER AND MATERIAL PHYSICS” from Berhampur University, Odisha. She worked as a Research Assistant during the period 2019-21 in “Centre of Excellence in Nano Science and Technology for the Development of Sensor”. She has desired teaching experience from several institutes.

Phil. from Khallikote University in the year 2018 with thesis entitled “Physico-Chemical Studies of β- Alanine in Mixed Aqueous Solution of Sodium Chloride and Sucrose”. She has worked in several educational institute as a guest faculty in Chemistry. Currently she is pursuing her Ph. D. in. P. G.
